Tasting organised by Corney & Barrow featuring the wonderful 2015 wines from J.J. Prum and several older wines from this top Mosel producer. Power, elegance and purity are the keywords. Katharina Prum describes her 2015s as "a unique combination of ripeness, intense fruit and racy acidity - great contrasts but beautifully in harmony." I here describe only a handful wines that stood out.

Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett 2015. Pale gold with green hints. Medium + intense nose with citrus, white peach, coriander and Asian spice. Off dry (just a touch of sweetness) with high acidity, citrus fruit on the palate (grapefruit) and fresh, long finish. A very good Kabinett.

Berkasteler Badstube Riesling Spatlese 2015. Pale gold with green highlights. Medium intense, complex nose of citrus, grapefruit, white flowers and peach. Medium sweet with a balanced medium + acidity and medium + intense fruits of pear and peach. Very long finish. An elegant and gorgeous wine.

Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese 2015. Pale gold. Medium + intense nose of honey, jasmine tea, peach, white flowers and pear. Medium sweet on the palate with zesty citrus flavours and a high but balancing acidity. Very long finish. Beautiful.

Graacher Himmelreich Auslese Goldkapsel 2012. Pale gold. Medium + intense nose of peach, pear and tropical fruit. Medium sweet and multilayered with medium + intense flavours of ripe citrus, peach and minerals. Medioum + acidity. Finish is only medium long. An excellent Riesling.
